Day 2. Auckland, Freedom of Choice Touring.
This morning is at leisure in Auckland for you to explore or relax. This afternoon, choose your touring activity from our range of Freedom of Choice Touring options. Perhaps take an Auckland City Sights tour, go sailing aboard the Pride of Auckland on Waitemata Harbour, visit the Auckland Museum, explore Kelly Tarlton’s fascinating Underwater World or embark on a Wilderness Adventure in the pristine Waitakere Rainforest.

Day 3Auckland - Bay of Islands
This morning, cross Auckland Harbour Bridge and travel through the farming communities of Warkworth and Wellsford. Visit the Matakohe Pioneer Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of kauri gum then continue to the majestic Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve for the chance to view the giant kauri tree known as Tane Mahuta, ‘Lord of the Forest’. You’ll then travel across the country to the sub-tropical Bay of Islands and visit the Waitangi Treaty House, where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed.

Day 4Bay of Islands, Freedom of Choice Touring
Not only is the Bay of Islands the birthplace of the nation and thus full of New Zealand history, it is also home to 144 islands and renowned as a favourite playground for lovers of anything aquatic; diving, sailing and big game fishing. Today you have the opportunity to select your own sightseeing activity. Among other options available are a day trip to Cape Reinga, an arts and crafts tour of the Kerikeri basin and a short ferry ride across the harbour to explore the town of Russell.

Day 5Bay of Islands - Auckland
This morning a Bay of Islands cruise takes you to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock. Meander through the inner islands, viewing sandy beaches, rocky outcrops and visit a secluded bay with time for relaxation, before returning by coach to Auckland.

Day 6Auckland - Rotorua, Hangi (Feast)
Today travel south through the Waikato Province to the fascinating Waitomo Caves for a guided tour of the limestone caverns and glow worm grotto. Following your time here, head to Rotorua, a centre of Maori culture and also a famous geothermal region. Tonight, indulge in a traditionally-cooked hangi (feast) and a Maori cultural performance of song and dance.

Day 7Rotorua, Freedom of Choice Touring
Rotorua is New Zealand’s oldest and best known resort, where generations of visitors have enjoyed its therapeutic waters, marvelled at its fascinating geothermal activity and experienced the region’s unique Maori culture. Today we give you the opportunity to choose the activity and we will include it at no extra cost.

Day 8Rotorua - Taupo - Wellington
Today view Wairakei Steam Valley, a fascinating geothermal power project. See spectacular Huka Falls and picturesque Lake Taupo. Travelling south, you’ll then cross the vast volcanic plateau of World Heritage-listed Tongariro National Park on the way to Wellington.

Day 9Wellington - Nelson, Dine Around Dinner
Today the Interislander takes you across Cook Strait. Cruise from Wellington Harbour into the breathtaking Marlborough Sounds and tranquil Queen Charlotte Sound before arriving in Picton. Later, travel through the orchard and vineyard region of Marlborough to Nelson. Tonight choose from two restaurants.

Day 10Nelson - Franz Joseph, West Coast Specialities Dinner
View the Pancake rock formations and blowholes at Punakaiki then stop at Hokitika to see Pounamu (jade) being carved into jewellery. Enter World Heritage-listed Westland National Park and view Franz Josef and Fox glaciers before a delicious West Coast Specialities Dinner tonight.

Day 14Queenstown - Milford Sound - Te Anau
Travel through Fiordland National Park where lush rainforest meets snow-capped mountains. Drive along Milford Road, renowned as one of the world’s most spectacular alpine drives. On arrival into Milford, cruise the full length of this beautiful fiord, travelling below famous mile-high Mitre Peak. Later, travel by coach to Te Anau.

Today journey via beautiful Lake Manapouri to Dunedin, settled by the Scottish in 1848 and renowned as the Edinburgh of the South. This afternoon you choose the activity and we will include it.

Day 16Dunedin - Mt. Cook, Dine Around Dinner

Day 17Mt. Cook - Christchurch, Dine Around Dinner
