| Day 2 | Melbourne, City Sights | | This morning discover the delights of Melbourne. View the shopping district of Collins Street and St Paul’s Cathedral. See the World Heritage-listed Royal Exhibition Buildings and stroll through the Royal Botanic Gardens. Explore Captain Cook’s cottage in Fitzroy Gardens before visiting the bustling Queen Victoria Market. See the historic Shrine of Remembrance then cross the impressive West Gate Bridge for lovely city views. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Perhaps join an optional tour to Phillip Island to see the famous Penguin Parade (own expense).

| Day 3 | Melbourne, At Leisure | | Today is free to explore Melbourne as you please. Go shopping and discover tiny boutiques along the city’s famous laneways. Perhaps have coffee by the Yarra River at Southgate or head out to the seaside suburb of St Kilda for ice cream and a stroll along the beach. Alternatively, you might choose to take one of our optional tours. Visit the wineries of the beautiful Yarra Valley for some wine tastings and indulge in local gourmet cuisine. Another option is a trip along the magnificent Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and a range of other beautiful coastal scenes (all at own expense).

| Day 4 | Melbourne - Alice Springs | | This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Alice Springs (own expense). This afternoon enjoy a town tour of Australia’s most famous Outback town, visiting the Royal Flying Doctor Service Base, the Old Telegraph Station and the School of the Air. Learn about the vital role these organizations play in the community.
Stay: Alice Springs, Crowne Plaza Hotel.

| Day 5 | Kata Juta (The Olgas) | | After breakfast, depart Alice Springs for Ayers Rock Resort. Travel via the Outback Camel Farm, where you’ll have the opportunity to ride a camel (own expense). Continue through the vast Outback landscape before arriving at Kata Tjuta, a collection of 36 striking rock domes. Walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge and learn about the ecology of this sacred area.
Two Night Stay: Ayers Rock Resort, Desert Gardens Hotel.

| Day 6 | Uluru (Ayers Rock), Sunrise, Base Tour, Mutitjulu Waterhole, Mala Walk | | Rise early to watch the sun’s first rays strike Uluru. Join a guided walk to the waterhole of Mutitjulu and later embark on the Mala Walk, touring the base of Uluru and hearing of the local legends and myths that shaped the land. Alternatively, forgo the Mutitjulu and Mala walks to climb Uluru. Tonight, you may like to experience the Sounds of Silence dinner underneath the Outback night sky (own expense). Alternatively, enjoy a delicious Outback BBQ dinner, during which you will spend the evening around the campfire tasting fine Central Australian prime beef. The evening also involves being shown damper bread making, boomerang throwing, insights into the Aboriginal way of life, Aussie bush ballads including a sing-a-long and an explanation of the stars (own expense).

| Day 7 | Ayers Rock Resort - Cairns | | After breakfast, be transferred to Ayers Rock Airport for your flight to Cairns (own expense). Located in Australia’s tropical north, Cairns is known as the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. On arrival, be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, with the rest of the day at your leisure. Perhaps take a short walk to The Esplanade and wander around the night markets.

| Day 8 | Cairns, Great Barrier Reef Cruise | | Enjoy a full day cruise to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Stretching for over 1,250 miles, the Great Barrier Reef is visible from outer space and is composed of more than 2,800 individual reefs. Head to the Outer Reef, stopping at Agincourt Reef, the only ribbon reef accessible on a day trip. Here, you can snorkel with tropical fish, view the coral gardens aboard the semi-submersible or discover the marine world from the underwater observatory. A buffet lunch is served on board. Enjoy tropical fruit, fresh salads and seafood as you soak up the Queensland sun. Cruise to Port Douglas, then take a wonderful scenic drive back to Cairns.

| Day 9 | Cairns, At Leisure | | Today is yours to do with as you wish. Perhaps take an optional tour to Kuranda, a village deep in the heart of the rain forest. Ride the Skyrail Cableway over the rain forest. See the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers then perhaps take the Kuranda Scenic Railway on your return to Cairns (own expense).

| Day 10 | Cairns - Sydney | | Transfer to Cairns Airport and fly to Sydney (own expense). On arrival in Australia’s most famous city you’ll be transferred to your hotel. This evening is at your leisure to explore. Perhaps take a relaxing walk to Darling Harbour or Circular Quay where you will find magnificent views of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

| Day 11 | Sydney, City Sights, Beaches, Harbour Luncheon Cruise | | Today after breakfast, the morning is free to explore on your own. You might like to visit the historic Rocks, which features a variety of stores and craft shops. At midday join a luncheon cruise on one of the world’s most beautiful harbors, enjoying the scenery for which Sydney is famous. Admire the Opera House and see the harbor bridge. After your cruise, take a tour of Sydney’s most famous sights, including Hyde Park, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, famous Bondi Beach and bustling Kings Cross.

| Day 12 | Sydney, At Leisure | | With a full day free for your leisure today, perhaps take an excursion west to the Blue Mountains, where craggy peaks, deep wooded valleys, rock formations and the scent of eucalyptus in the air serve as testament to Australia’s rugged beauty and charm. See the Three Sisters, a giant rock formation towering over the Jamison Valley. Take in the views from Echo Point, tour the charming town of Katoomba and later, visit an Australian wildlife park to see native animals. Other excursions available include a trip to the fascinating Jenolan Caves or a tour of the Hunter Valley and its famous wineries (all own expense).
